Butter Flaky Pie Crust

BUTTER FLAKY PIE CRUST

Butter makes this buttery flaky recipe the perfect crust for your pie!
This wasn’t the best crust I’ve ever had. I had high expectations though given all of the raving comments. I do love how simple it is, plus I would much rather use butter than lard. Next time I will use less water because that may be the reason that it wasn’t very flaky.

YOU’LL NEED:

1 1/4 C. all-purpose flour
1/4 Tsp. salt
1/2 C. butter, chilled and diced
1/4 C. ice water

HOW TO MAKE:

1-In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.
2-Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
3-Stir in water, a tablespoon at a time, until mixture forms a ball. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 4 hours or overnight.
4-Roll dough out to fit a 9 inch pie plate.
5-Place crust in pie plate. Press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the pie plate.
