Hot Louisiana Shrimp Dip
HOT LOUISIANA SHRIMP DIP
1 (8 Oz.) package cream cheese, softened
1/4 C. mayonnaise
1/4 C. sour cream
1/3 C. parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 C. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter
1/4 C. green onion, finely chopped
1 Red bell pepper, seeds removed, minced
1 Pound raw shrimp (peeled and deveined), fresh or frozen (and thawed/drained), cut into small pieces
1 Tbsp. Creole or Cajun seasoning
1 Lemon, zested and juiced (1 tablespoon)
1 Tbsp. fresh parsley, minced
2 Tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tsp. hot sauce
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
Crackers, baguette, for serving
HOW TO MAKE:
1-Preheat oven to 375º F.
2-In a large bowl or mixer, beat together cream cheese, mayonnaise, sour cream and parmesan cheese.
3-Season with lemon zest and juice, Worcestershire sauce and hot sauce, and stir together to combine, then set aside.
4-Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sauté bell pepper and green onion for 6-8 minutes, or until bell pepper starts to soften.
5-Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper and creole seasoning, then cook for 1-2 minutes, or until shrimp starts to turn pink.
6-Add cream cheese mixture and parsley, then stir together.
7-Transfer skillet to oven and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until mixture is hot and bubbly.
8-Remove from oven and serve hot.
