My Grandma’s Pie Crust Recipe

Irresistible !! Making this tasty Pie Crust Recipe is wonderful way for you to leave your legacy to family and friends! Make sure to follow the instructions as directed and be sure that you’ll make the most delicious pie crust ever!!! Seriously, this is a definite keeper for future use.

YOU’LL NEED:

– Pastry flour: 3 C.
– Shortening: 1/2 C.
– Cold butter: 1/2 C.
– Ice-cold water.: 1/2 C.
– White vinegar: 1 TBSP.
– Salt: 1 TSP.

DIRECTIONS:

Step 1 :
Sift together the flour with salt in a wide tub. And please split the shortening and the butter until coarse crumbs resemble the mixture.

Step 2 :
Then mix the water and vinegar in a cup. To the crumbs, you’ll wan to add the vinegar mixture, mixing together until the dough is packed together and manages well.

Step 3 :
You’d best spread the flour on the counter before rolling out the dough. Make sure to divide it into two chunks of dough.

Step 4 :
Next, roll one piece out on a floured board. You may want to roll about 1/2 an inch bigger than the pie pan with the dough. Lay the crust in the pie plate, pressing down gently on the bottom and sides of the plate.

Step 5 :
If you make just a bottom crust, simply turn the edge under and use the “flute” thumbs on the sides of the dough.

Step 6 :
It’s wise to fill the pie, roll out the other half of the dough, and lay it on top of the filling in case a double-crusted pie is made. The top dough should be folded under the bottom dough and with your fingers seal it together.

Step 7 :
Alright now, bake according to your pie recipe directions.

RECIPE NOTES :

This recipe is enough for a double-crusted pastry.
